Cape Coral’s Public Beach
Cape Coral beach is located at the Cape Coral Yacht Club. The Cape Coral Yacht Club is the city’s only public beach. The facility is very nice. It has two boat ramps, picnic shelters and tables, BBQ grills, a boardwalk, dining, and a sizeable stretch of beautiful, light sand. The Yacht Club facilities has other amenities, such as a ballroom, tennis courts, a marina, etc.
It is a beach on the shores of the Caloosahatchee River. Cape Coral does not have a readily accessible beach on the Gulf.

Gulf Beaches Near Cape Coral
If you are looking for a beach on the Gulf of Mexico then you are in luck. The location of Cape Coral means you are in close proximity to several beautiful beach options. Below we give a few amazing options, all within a 30-minute drive of Southern Cape Coral.
The beaches near Cape Coral include:
- Bonita Springs Beaches (Bonita Springs, FL) – Bonita Beach Park is a great place to head if you are an early bird (the parking lot fills up fast), but there are multiple access points along the beach (all with a handful of parking spots). Heading towards Fort Myers Beach you will also find Little Hickory Island Beach Park.
- Fort Myers Beach (Fort Myers Beach, FL) – from the southern part of Cape Coral you are about 20-25 minutes away from famous Fort Myers Beach. Fort Myers Beach is its own city separate from Fort Myers. This beach has 7 miles of gorgeous gulf shores. The main section of the beach has restaurants, shopping, a boardwalk, changing rooms/bathrooms, etc. There are also more secluded beach access spots as you go down the island towards Bonita Springs. Further down is Lover’s Key State Park, one of the nicest beaches in the area.
- Sanibel Beaches (Sanibel, FL) – If you don’t mind paying the $6 toll to get over the causeway you will find several amazing beaches in Sanibel. The island itself is worth the trip, but if you are looking for sun and sand you have several options. A few of our favorites are the Lighthouse Beach Park, Bowman’s Beach, Tarpon Bay Beach and the Causeway Islands Park, which you can literally park your car along the bridge and suntan. Cape Coral to Sanibel is about 30 minutes (from the southern part of Cape Coral), but the distance to the beach will depend on which one you choose.
